Casa San Miguel is the ideal starting point to explore the natural and cultural beauty of the Valla d'Albaida, La Safor, and La Costera regions. From mountain trails offering breathtaking views to charming villages and historic towns, there are countless opportunities to immerse yourself in the local nature and history.
Access to streams and pools is especially attractive for those looking to enjoy a day outdoors, whether hiking, fishing, or simply relaxing by the water. Additionally, the possibility of visiting wineries and participating in tastings is an excellent way to get to know the area's gastronomy and wine culture.

Vía Verde del Serpis. Lorxa.
It was a railway, the tracks of the Tren del Anglesos, which in the late 19th century facilitated communication and the transport of goods between Alcoy and the Grao de Gandía.
Gradually, it lost its utility, and now it remains a beautiful spot where you can enjoy landscapes accompanied by the flow of the Serpis River.
We start the route at the old Lorxa train station and head through the ravine, crossing about 5 tunnels and the remains of what was a narrow-gauge railway line. We can also see remnants of mills, old power plants, and even the remains of tracks and considerable native vegetation. It is an easy route always accompanied by the river with very beautiful waterfalls. Sometimes the GPS signal is lost there, causing some oddities, and the route can be easily extended.

The visit to the monument lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, including the screening of a 20-minute documentary about the history of the Monastery. All visits are guided, and the guide does an excellent job, explaining each part or room of the Monastery in great detail.
Strolling around the Monastery is highly recommended, as it is surrounded by nature, pine forests, and a mountain range that shelters it. Without a doubt, it is a great place to spend the day or to learn about a part of Valencian heritage and history. Additionally, it is just a step away from Gandia, so you can combine it with a dip in the beach.

Night fell, and what had been a pleasant and curious walk turned into something magical and from another era, as it indeed is. Hidden squares, tiny chapels around the corner, viewpoints in the outer-side corridors of the neighborhood. Every last corner of well-maintained stone, and in some places, very well carved.
One never tires of walking until the slopes leave you breathless. It is essential to visit this old town, declared a historical-artistic complex due to its tremendous beauty. Children will love Covetes dels Moros . It is a great experience to explore the nooks and crannies of these caves and galleries built in the past by the "Moors" for crop storage. You just need to be in good physical shape as you have to climb, slide, and pass through somewhat narrow tunnels.
In the Footsteps of the Borgia (Gandía and Xátiva)
Cities like Gandía and Xativa that you cannot miss. Both are 20 minutes from the Granja. The history of the Borja family is fascinating.
Gandía
The Ducal Palace shows us the luxury in which the family lived and the conversion of Francisco de Borja, changing the power of the court for ecclesiastical power in the hands of the Jesuit order. Guided and night tours available.
Xátiva
The most striking thing about Xàtiva is the castle , but if you have the opportunity, do not forget to take a walk through the streets where the Borgia also walked. Admire the splendid manor houses and then get lost in the narrow streets of the old town where there are market mornings on Tuesdays and Fridays. Ideal for getting lost in the alleys with so much history around.
Valencia
The City of Arts and Sciences
The Palau de les Arts, Queen Sofía Palace of the Arts, is a beautiful work by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava. It looks like a fish or a sailboat, suggesting the nearby presence of the sea. It is part of the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia, a series of buildings and museums, concert halls, and very futuristic gardens.
The building is 65 meters high, and the interior covers more than 40,000 square meters dedicated to the arts. The palace is surrounded by gardens and water. The City of Arts was built in a place where there used to be a river, but it was dried up, and now it is a garden.
It is a very modern place that surprises you, especially if you come from the old part of Valencia, which is very traditional, with buildings so different from the white concrete facade of this one.

Admire the modernist style of the Central Market of Valencia. Discover the history of the Miguelete and the Cathedral of Valencia.

We invite you to visit the magnificent wineries you will find in our region, about 40 km from Granja San Miguel.
If you notify us in advance, we can organize a visit to some of these wonderful wineries, such as Los Frailes, which has an organic certification, and also Los Pinos.
